Craftsmanship

Blue-and-white (qinghua) decoration is painted with cobalt pigment directly on the dried, unfired body. The piece is then covered with a clear glaze and fired once at high temperature (around 1,300°C), which turns the pigment blue and seals the pattern under the glaze, so it does not wear off with use.

How to Use

Intended for display. Use the included stand or a secure wall fixing, keep away from direct sunlight and places where it could be knocked.

Care

Wash by hand with warm water and a soft sponge; avoid abrasive scourers. Do not expose to sudden temperature changes. Hand-made and hand-painted pieces vary slightly in colour, pattern and size; photos are for reference.
