Craftsmanship
Celadon owes its green colour to a small amount of iron in the glaze, fired in a reduction (low-oxygen) atmosphere. Longquan-style celadon is known for thick, soft glazes; where the glaze is thinner, over edges and carving, the colour becomes lighter. Shade varies from firing to firing.
How to Use
For display or flowers. If using with water, check that the inside is glazed and dry the vase after use; place on a stable surface away from the edge.
Care
Wash by hand with warm water and a soft sponge; avoid abrasive scourers. Do not expose to sudden temperature changes. Hand-made and hand-painted pieces vary slightly in colour, pattern and size; photos are for reference.
