Craftsmanship
Blue-and-white (qinghua) decoration is painted with cobalt pigment directly on the dried, unfired body. The piece is then covered with a clear glaze and fired once at high temperature (around 1,300°C), which turns the pigment blue and seals the pattern under the glaze, so it does not wear off with use.
How to Use
Rinse with hot water before brewing. Add leaves, fill with water, put the lid on and pour out completely after each infusion so the leaves do not over-steep.
Care
Wash by hand with warm water and a soft sponge; avoid abrasive scourers. Do not expose to sudden temperature changes. Hand-made and hand-painted pieces vary slightly in colour, pattern and size; photos are for reference.
