During high-temperature firing and slow cooling, iron in the glaze separates into streaks (hare&#8217;s fur) or spots (oil spot). Because the patterns form in the kiln, every piece is unique; the unglazed foot shows the dark body.<\/p>\n<h3>How to Use<\/h3>\n<p>Warm the cup with hot water before serving tea. Hold small cups by the rim and foot, as the walls can become hot.<\/p>\n<h3>Care<\/h3>\n<p>Wash by hand with warm water and a soft sponge; avoid abrasive scourers. Do not expose to sudden temperature changes. Hand-made and hand-painted pieces vary slightly in colour, pattern and size; photos are for reference.
